Job Type:  Full time and Part Time
Salary starts at $15.30
Job Summary
To assist licensed and/or professional staff in the development and implementation of individual support plans for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
 
Qualifications
  1. Must be 18 years old or older for Day and Residential and 21 years old for ECF.
  2. Driver’s license preferred (impacts the shift a DSP can work)
  3. Successful completion of Agency’s comprehensive training program. 
  4. Must pass drug screen
  5. Satisfactory background check
  6. Satisfactory reference checks
  7. High School or equivalent preferred for Day and Residential.  HS or GED for ECF.
  8. Must be able to lift 25 pounds
 
Essential functions of the job include:
  1. Must be able to lift 25 lbs
  2. Attend all programmatic staff and quarterly meetings that are held.
  3. Attend all support plan, core-team, COS, and training meetings, which you are requested to attend.
  4. Treats others with respect, courtesy and tact; listens to people supported, families, and co-workers.   Interacts with each person while maintaining a business relationship.
  5. Offers options, as appropriate, so that the person supported can decide what they want to do; demonstrates fairness and good judgement when seeking possible expectations or in going the extra mile to meet expectation
  6. Transports individuals and personnel as assigned.
  7. Encourage, guide, and teach people to complete all tasks at their highest level of ability.
  8. Read, understand and follow each person’s Support Plan (if they have one), reporting any issues to your shift leader or supervisor. 
  9. Assist Individuals supported with medication and treatment plans as needed
  10. Assist individuals with money management including budgeting, baking, and shopping
  11.

Job Location
As assigned.  May work at different job sites.  Supervisors can move staff as needed to cover homes/shifts.
