Job Summary
To assist licensed and/or professional staff in the development and implementation of individual support plans for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older for Day and Residential and 21 years old for ECF.
- Driver’s license preferred (impacts the shift a DSP can work)
- Successful completion of Agency’s comprehensive training program.
- Must pass drug screen
- Satisfactory background check
- Satisfactory reference checks
- High School or equivalent preferred for Day and Residential. HS or GED for ECF.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
Essential functions of the job include:
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs
- Attend all programmatic staff and quarterly meetings that are held.
- Attend all support plan, core-team, COS, and training meetings, which you are requested to attend.
- Treats others with respect, courtesy and tact; listens to people supported, families, and co-workers. Interacts with each person while maintaining a business relationship.
- Offers options, as appropriate, so that the person supported can decide what they want to do; demonstrates fairness and good judgement when seeking possible expectations or in going the extra mile to meet expectation
- Transports individuals and personnel as assigned.
- Encourage, guide, and teach people to complete all tasks at their highest level of ability.
- Read, understand and follow each person’s Support Plan (if they have one), reporting any issues to your shift leader or supervisor.
- Assist Individuals supported with medication and treatment plans as needed
- Assist individuals with money management including budgeting, baking, and shopping

Job Location
As assigned. May work at different job sites. Supervisors can move staff as needed to cover homes/shifts.
