Event Description:
1 p.m.—Council of Trees Hike. Meet at the amphitheater behind the picnic pavilion for an awesome and intense hike through our amazing, scenic forest! This hike is 1.7 miles, is of moderate difficulty and has frequent elevation changes. Bring tough shoes and water!
3:30 p.m.—Science of the Blue Hole. Calling all scientists and fans of the Blue Hole! Our resident biology nerd, John, will be giving a fun yet informative talk on what makes the Blue Hole such a wonder to have in our lovely area. Prepare to have your mind blown!
5:30 p.m.—Atlatl Demonstration. Stop by the Visitor's Center Gazebo for an exciting demonstration of a favorite Native American hunting tool, the Atlatl. This is a super fun program, so arrive early! We will be hanging out in the field next to the center, so bring sunscreen and a bottle of water. Anyone can join.
7 p.m.—Eternal Flame Talk. Dive into the past of Red Clay at one of our signature sites, the Eternal Flame! Experience its rich history and why it is so vitally important to the Cherokee people. Meet up with everyone at the Visitor's Center overhang, and we'll walk the short distance from there!
