The Director of the tennis clinics, Kay McDaniel, is a former world’s professional tennis player. She held a world’s ranking of top #35 in singles and top #20 in doubles. She competed against legends such as Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert and Steffi Graf. She played at Wimbledon, U.S. Open, and French Open Grand Slam events 6 times. She was Lee’s tennis coach for 6 years and professor for 27 years. Currently, she is a counselor to students at the Calling & Career Center. At the clinics, over 40 instructors assist McDaniel in teaching the kids. A unique biblical theme is emphasized each year. On Friday, a ceremonial awards event is held with 4 special awards given to deserving candidates. The 4 winners literally walk down a red carpet on the tennis court to receive their medal of honor from McDaniel. *Note: This popular clinic fills up very quickly. 400 kids are accepted (350 kids have already been accepted – so only 50 spots left!) Once you a child is registered, they receive a confirmation email from Kay if s/he is accepted into clinics. To learn more about the clinics, go to www.kaymcdanieltennisclinics.com
