Name: International Cowpea Festival & Cook-off
Date: September 9, 2017
Time: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
Come on out to the International Cowpea Festival & Cook-off for a day filled with food, music and fun. The second Saturday in September marks the date for the festival with the funny name. Listen to live music throughout the day, taste the professional chef’s culinary creations, vote for your favorite and stroll through the marketplace where you will find handmade arts and crafts. There will also be food vendors and a heritage area to share other parts of Charleston’s story such as Cherokee, Civil War and Wild River history. The daylong event also features a family fun field with inflatables, games and a petting zoo.
The festival will be held at Charleston City Park in historic Charleston, TN. From I-75, take exit 33 and travel east on Lauderdale Hwy to the Hwy 11 junction. Turn left on Hwy 11. Just past the Fire Hall and across from the Charleston School football field, turn right on Worth Street. Park is about a block ahead on the left.
