Event Description:
Our June Food for Thought membership luncheon will focus on City Fields CDC (formerly known as Impact Cleveland). City Fields is an independent 501(c)(3) Community Development Corporation whose aim is to be a catalyst for change in Cleveland's most overlooked neighborhoods. City Fields focuses on 5 "fields" that promote holistic and equitable revitalization. They are:
  1. Physical Revitalization
  2. Social Revitalization
  3. Neighborhood Safety
  4. Economic Development
  5. Leadership Development
City Fields has been instrumental in empowering residents of the Blythe Oldfield community of SE Cleveland to influence positive change in our community. They have also been successful in leveraging and/or administering over $7 million dollars of grants/investment over the past four years into their focus area. Given City Fields' track record, and the significant momentum that is growing in/around Cleveland's Central Business District area (*as well as the vacant Whirlpool property), the future of looks very bright for downtown and its surrounding neighborhoods. At this Chamber Food for Thought, Executive Director Dustin Tommey will give an update about City Fields current activities, grants, and projects, and cast vision for the future of their community development strategies moving forward.
