Hear expert advice on tourism recovery at this month’s meeting of the Cleveland Media Association. Marcie Claude joined the staff of the Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau in January of 2013 as PR Manager and City Public Information Officer. In her role, Claude learned that media relations are key to handling communications during a crisis and recovery. In 2017, Claude was named Tourism Manager of the Year for a Large Organization by the TN Tourism and Hospitality Association for her work following the 2016 Great Smokey Mountains National Park Fire. She will share her experiences on balancing government communications and changing public perception in the wake of that dramatic event.
