Name: Boots to Business
Date: July 18, 2017
Time: 5:30 PM - 5:30 PM EDT
Event Description:
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Cleveland State is pleased to present Boots to Business, a brand new offering designed especially for our military families. This 9-week entrepreneurship education and training program is offered to veterans and their family members. The class will meet every Tuesday night from July 18 through September 12. The standardized curriculum is designed to provide a pathway through key steps for evaluating business concepts as well as provide the foundational knowledge required to develop a business plan. Each week a new topic will be covered, building upon the previous weeks' lessons. Michael Mac Donald, local business owner, veteran, and graduate of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University, will lead the 9-week program. Guest speakers will be brought in to expand on subject matter. This is a certificate, not credited, class culminating in a graduation to take place during the final session. Since this program builds on knowledge gained and material covered from week to week, it is expected that participants will commit to attending all 9 sessions. There will be some out of class work required to supplement the lessons. This program will provide the structure and foundation for a great business plan, provide an opportunity to work with other veterans and their families, and build a solid network for the future.
